Who We Are

We are a group of women not affiliated with any organization who have come together because of our concerns about the hegemony of transgender politics among lesbian and feminist communities. We believe there is a valid and important political debate to be had about strategies, tactics and philosophies toward creating a world free from patriarchy and oppression.

However, we have seen and experienced an incredible silencing of dissent or any deviation from the transgender political vision and strategies. This silencing has been accomplished through the use of tactics such as shaming, name-calling, and threats, among others. We believe that these tactics do not further intelligent discourse and we refuse to be silenced.

We have seen many, many women who are troubled and disturbed by the silencing and subsuming of feminist concerns to transgender politics, but who have been afraid to speak up. In creating this website, we wanted to legitimize and give voice to those concerns so that women can make up their own minds as to which strategies they believe will be most effective in creating a feminist world.
